Acceptance of these terms

By using Peas of Mind, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Who we are

Peas of Mind is provided by TECHLEAK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17432399). Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Contact us any time at support@peasofmind.co.uk.

Barcode product data

The pantry barcode scanner looks products up in Open Food Facts and its sister databases (Open Products Facts, Open Beauty Facts). Product information from those databases is made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL), with individual contents under the Database Contents Licence.

Credit for that data belongs to Open Food Facts and its contributors — https://openfoodfacts.org. Only the barcode number is sent when you scan; no photo ever leaves your phone.

The service

Peas of Mind is a household organiser app for recipes, meal planning, groceries, pantry tracking, and to-dos.

The app is currently in private testing and is provided free of charge. We may introduce paid plans in future — if we do, we'll show you the price clearly and get your active confirmation before charging you anything, and this section will be updated with full billing and cancellation terms at that point.

Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 to create an account. Child profiles are non-login labels for Planner entries, created and controlled entirely by the adult account holder — not accounts a child can access themselves.

Keep the email address on your account secure, and the Apple or Google account too if you sign in with one — anyone who can get into them can get into your household. Tell us straight away at support@peasofmind.co.uk if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for what happens under your account.

Licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Peas of Mind for your own household organisation, for as long as you have an account in good standing. The app itself — its code, design, and the Peas of Mind name and branding — belongs to TECHLEAK LTD or its licensors; this licence doesn't give you any rights to that beyond ordinary use of the app.

Your content

You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, notes, and everything else you or your household add. By adding it, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it back to you and your household solely to run the app — nothing more. That licence ends when the content or your account is deleted.

Acceptable use

You won't: use the app unlawfully or to store unlawful content; try to gain access to a household you haven't been genuinely invited to; reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the app's underlying code or data at scale; or do anything that could damage, disable, or overburden the service for other users.

Third-party services

Parts of the app depend on services we don't control — for example the App Store, our hosting/database provider, and email/notification delivery (the full list is in the Privacy Policy above). We're not responsible for their outages, changes, or policies, though we choose reputable providers and will respond if one of them affects the app.

If you downloaded Peas of Mind through Apple's App Store, Apple's own standard terms for third-party apps also apply between you and Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce these terms against you.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, a bug report, or a feature idea through the app, you're giving us permission to use it to improve Peas of Mind — including building it as a feature — without owing you anything for it.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law — this is required by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and is not overridden by anything else in these terms.

Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, TECHLEAK LTD is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from: (a) your reliance on any recipe, ingredient, or dietary/allergen information in the app (see Part B); (b) loss of data; or (c) interruption or unavailability of the service — including where any of the above results from a failure, error, or breach at a third-party service provider we use to run the app.

Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Indemnity

You agree to cover any claim, loss, or expense TECHLEAK LTD incurs because of your unlawful use of the app, your breach of these terms, or content you added or imported that you weren't authorised to use.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account) — this permanently deletes your household's data and can't be undone. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you've breached these terms or misused the service, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update this page, change the date at the top, and tell you in the app — we won't rely on you noticing. Continuing to use Peas of Mind after that means you accept the updated terms.

If you'd rather not accept a change, you can export everything and delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy, and nothing further applies to you.

Complaints and disputes

If something's gone wrong, email support@peasofmind.co.uk first — we'll aim to sort it out directly. If we can't agree, either of us can bring a claim in court as described below.

If your complaint is specifically about how we've handled your personal data, you can also raise it with the Information Commissioner's Office — see 'Your rights' in the Privacy Policy above.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute — except that if you're a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, mandatory local consumer protection law may also let you bring a claim in the courts where you live.

General

These terms (together with the Privacy Policy above) are the entire agreement between you and TECHLEAK LTD about using the app, replacing anything discussed elsewhere. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Us not enforcing a term straight away doesn't mean we've given it up. You can't transfer your rights under these terms to someone else; we may transfer ours as part of a genuine business transfer, but that won't reduce the protections you have here. Nobody except you and TECHLEAK LTD can enforce these terms (Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999), other than Apple as set out above.

Recipe, ingredient, and allergen information — please read this one

Recipes, ingredients, quantities, and dietary/allergen tags in the app are entered by you or other members of your household, or imported automatically from third-party websites. We do not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or safety of any recipe, ingredient list, or dietary/allergen tag.

Dietary and allergen tags are informational only. Before preparing, serving, or eating any recipe — especially where an allergy, intolerance, or medical condition is involved — you must independently check the actual ingredients and packaging you use, and consult a medical professional where appropriate. Do not rely on the app as your sole source of allergen or dietary information.

The app is not a medical device and does not provide medical or dietary advice. Use of any recipe or dietary information in the app is entirely at your own risk.

Importing recipes from other websites

The app can import a recipe's content from a URL you provide. You are solely responsible for making sure you're entitled to copy and store that content — for example, that doing so doesn't breach the source website's terms of use or infringe anyone's copyright. We don't review imported content for licensing or copyright compliance, and we accept no responsibility for content you import that you weren't authorised to copy.

Sharing a household

Peas of Mind is built to be shared. Anyone you invite — or anyone who joins using a code you or another member shares — can see and edit everything in that household: recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, to-dos, and any child profiles, and an owner can remove other members. Only share an invite with people you trust with that level of access. We're not responsible for what another member of your household does with data they've been given genuine access to.

Reminders and notifications

Meal, grocery, and to-do reminders (where enabled) are a convenience, not a guarantee — they can fail to arrive on time or at all, for reasons outside our control such as a disabled notification permission, a device that's offline, or a delivery failure at Apple, Google, or our own notification service. Don't rely on the app as your only reminder for anything time-critical, especially anything allergy- or health-related.

Deleting data is permanent

Deleting a recipe, a household, or your account removes that data immediately and permanently — there is no recovery option on our end once it's gone. Export a copy first (Settings → Data & privacy → Export my data) if you might want it later.

Your acknowledgement of risk

By using the app to store or follow any recipe, ingredient, or dietary/allergen information, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk, and that you are responsible for independently verifying anything relevant to an allergy, intolerance, or medical condition before acting on it.
